An out of state car dealership hired a transporter to relocate its defective vehicle to Illinois. However, the car dealership never informed the transporter that the car was not in proper operating condition. As the transporter unloaded the vehicle from the trailer, the vehicle accelerated in reverse and ejected him from the vehicle. After being ejected, the transporter’s left leg became caught and was run over by the vehicle. As a result of the incident, the transporter suffered multiple leg fractures, which required surgery and physical therapy. The out of state car dealership agreed to settle the lawsuit for $450,000.00.
